Lucas 8/27 with attachments, $11,500
« on: January 28, 2016, 08:42:55 AM »
As our business continues to evolve, our equipment must evolve at a simular rate. Therefore it is time to sell the mill which we built our business around.
The mill is a 1998 Lucas 8/27, included in the package are the following items.

The mill itself. Engine runs great, however the hour meter was not working   when I bought it, so hours are unknown.

Attachments,
3 blades, with jig to solder on teeth.
4 ft extentions.
5ft slabber, with however many chains at time of purchase.
Chain sharpening jig.
Planer with 3 sets of cutters.
Sander and some paper.

The winches have been upgraded to the new style, which are easier to crank.
I will be glad to provide a day of training if needed.
I have pics, but still cannot make them appear, I will text them to any interested party.

I have read and understand the conditions of selling on the Forestry Forum.

176 views and no reply's, am I too high here guys? I am not fussin, if I need to come down to generate any interest, someone let me know. Anyone interested at all ?, I wanted to give FF members first lick at it. If not, I will put it out to the public.
We are planning to change over to the Lucas dedicated slabber, so as to have larger cants for the Woodmizer.
Thanks, Frank

Well Frank, since you asked I'll oblige.
A brand new one, with all of the attachments you have, is going for $ 14,800.00 brand new with zero hours and a three year warranty. To me, the uncertainty of the hours, the fact you built a business around it and it wasn't just a hobby machine, the saw was previously owned and either had the hour meter disconnected or not maintained just doesn't give me a lot of confidence in an 18 year old machine for $3500. worth of depreciation. I mean no disrespect by my opinion. I sincerely wish you great success in your sale.
Live your truth and your truth will find you

Seaman, sounds like a great mill.  The included attachments cost a good bit when new.  I have no need for the setup but wanted to give my opinion on the value (as a fellow Lucas owner).  Seems like a fair place to start as long as you entertain offers.  Disclaimer: this advice is worth what you paid for it ;)

Hi Frank,

are the mill and attachments still available?

In my house I'm the boss, I know this because my wife said so, I only hope she doesn't change her mind!

New to me Timber Harvester that I'm learning to operate, been building a home built mill for a while, should be ready to make sawdust with it someday if I ever quit "modifying" the design.
