My current blade guide setup I think is very inferior constructed with 1/2" rod and 1" flat bar. Looking to make a new one. What have you found works and doesn't work? I will try to get a few photos up once the rain slows down. Eventually I'd like to get the cooks guide bearings. It's just not in the cards just yet. Any help is appreciated. Thanks

This is what I have now. Also my mill has another bearing just before the blade reaches the drive wheel. Is that a common procedure?

As long as it isn't flexing it'll be okay.  All mine is are angle iron!   Works fine.  Using Cooks guide wheels as well.
