Hello, I am asking this for my brother Kevin of Townes Logging, Apologies if this is not posted in the right area I don't really ever post in forums. Does anyone know how to fill a John Deere 540 g rear diff/rear axle. We tried filling it through the ''Peep hole'' and it just spills out. a friend of his recommended filling it through a ''vent'' in the front end that we cannot find either. Thank you for your time! -Brian

Remove one of the plugs that is almost in line with the pinion .    Crank machine and turn diff locks on and wait patiently until it comes out of the plug hole.   Top it at hydraulic tank.   That is assuming diff lock is in operational order

Vent hose for front diff should be up near hydraulic tank. Fill front diff, start machine, engage diff lock, wait till oil comes out of check plug on rear diff, top off front diff
