Took a page from Kbeitz' book
« on: March 03, 2017, 02:04:13 PM »
After seeing the firewood pallets he made i decided to make some very similar.
I plan to burn my Hemlock slabs in my Classic  boiler in the summer to heat my domestic water in that I cant legally burn the piles.
I used 2x10 and 2x6 Hemlock for the bases and some ash lumber that i had piled for at least 5 years.
Worked out good.
put 2x6s 1 foot in from the edges to facilitate fork engagement. see the unfinished one.
Ran out of Ash boards and it is too cold to go to the mill yard to get more until it warms up.
The nice green racks came out of the Wilson Tennis racquet factory in Cortland NY when they closed their doors in the late 70s.
I modified 3 of these to move lumber around the shop.
They can take a very heavy load.
Very handy
You can see the one in the far background which I hang blades on for sharpening
