Log Splitter
« on: December 17, 2017, 11:12:06 AM »
I am looking for a log splitter. I want to sell my slabs from the mill as campfire wood. I also will use it to split our Maple Syrup wood, about 5 cords a year in total.
I am in southern Ontario
Merry Christmas to all!

Can you be a bit more specific? I assume you want a portable but how big? Gas drive or electric? I am a bit far away to be of any assistance but members in your area might if they know what you are looking for.

Portable, I am not sure the electric are strong enough.
I have a special needs neighbour that helps at my mill. I can keep him busy turning the slabs into campfire wood for the campground.

When we visited him member Brucer was using an electric splitter.

If just splitting Slabs I would think the electric would be fine from what I have seen.

I went to a show and there was a Super Splitter with an electric motor. What I like, quiet. Seem odd to see it split with no motor noise.

Ive got a six ton yardsorks, plugs into 110 outlet, splits anything we can lift onto it. Only downfall is you got to bring the wood to it,or get a super heavy duty extension cord.
