We have the theives and crooks from Chitown and crook county and the liberals from the collar counties running the state. Seem that the downstate vote is useless . We did get rid of Obomba but he has come back to haunt us in a big way .

Afew years back my neighbor tells a story of one of his older friends that had a small hunting cabin on some remote land at the back of his farm that was recieving the nasty end of vandils . So one day he hiked out to the cabin for an over nite stay had his double barrel to fend off skeeters and such.  Late into the nite as he dozed on the cot a vandil came blasting through the door . the ol man opened up with a shot or two , hurt the intruder a bit .
So at the old mans trial for attemted manslauder he told the jury that he was asleep and the guy made such a racket breaking in that it startled him and he jerked about and must have knocked the gun over and it fired on the bounce .  He said that if he was planning to kill someone that he would be on trial for murder because he would not have just niped the intruder with a shot gun . bein he was a champion skeet shooter .    Case dismissed.    No one messed with his cabin again.

Gun laws in Canada are pretty restrictive. They have to be stored in one locked box the shells in another. The thief would have cleaned you out before you got your gun out.
That said, I have an RCMP buddy that says it is better to be tried by 12 than carried by 6.

As I said in the previous post, there was an investigation, and things have changed a little bit.  It turns out that the intended victim owned a small beer joint, and was known to carry his nightly receipts home with him.  His home, his habits, and his schedule were all apparently watched over a period of time.  Following the aforementioned investigations, 3 women have been arrested as accomplices in the robbery, and charged with Felony Murder in the death of their "co-worker."  The guy who did the shooting has been exonerated of all wrongdoing.

This is the way it supposed to be, folks! 8) 8) 8)

Amen to that.  Does Florida have the death penalty?

Yes, and while slow, we do use it. Dan's neighbor saved the State a bunch of money. Too bad the married couple in west Florida were unable to do the same thing.

Now that was a mess. What's the number of arrests on that 8 so far? So 8 people plan a robbery/murder of 2 people to get  a safe with a small amount of prescription drugs, a couple bucks and some jewerly.

I've followed that case, and I get a creepy feeling that something is being swept under the rug.  Some things "came out" early on about some business dealings gone bad, then about some beef about some of the adopted kids, then all of that mysteriously went back in.  This is stuff that was originally mentioned by the cops, never retracted or explained, but just ignored as things went on.  Something smells of fish. ::)

What I cant understand is most Kiwis are actually quite sensible yet they persist in electing complete #*%holes to run the place.

And I thought the US was the only country with that problem!  There's an email going around that shows how many of our senators and congressmen don't pay their bill, go bankrupt, break laws we never could get away with, drink and drive, do drugs, have mistresses, I could go on.  The bad thing is "we" elected the baffoons. ???

Nahhh, the problem is universal.  It is just that some societies are bold enough to admit to having problems, and others are too cowardly to admit it.

Ernie, that has always puzzled me too.  I've met a whole bunch of Kiwis, Aussies, Canucks, and Brits, and I have yet to meet a single one who seems like they would vote their freedom away.  I even spent a week in Australia and didn't meet any. ??? ??? ???

One morning, when I had the sawmill home, I heard the escort start up. Went outside, the blade just stoped turning and the car door was open. Talk about  bad day for a poor car thief. 8) 8)

In a small town near me someone has robbed the gas station 3 times and also has taken change out of several cars in the past 2 weeks. Thursday night a man caught the thief in his car at 2 am. He was just going to make him wait for the sheriff to arrive, but the thief pulled out a knife before the sheriff got there. The thief is now in the hospital with a broken jaw and nose as well as several other injuries. The man that caught him wasn't hurt or charged with anything. The sheriff has not arrested the thief yet. They said if they wait until he gets out of the hospital to arrest him, he has to pay the bill and not the county.  :D

I hope pawpaw fired off a couple of shells into the woods just for the effect.

> charged with Felony Murder in the death of their "co-worker."

That is another thing I really like about FL, you can't use the excuse you were only the driver or you watched, but, did not pull the trigger. If you were involved, you probably will get the same sentence as the killer.

I have been waiting to hear more details about the couple's death. Something certainly is fishy to have that many people involved with a home invasion and to have people turning off alarms and such.
