Forgive me friends, but I have questions.

I'm planning on putting some fresh sawn 8x8 and/or 6x6 timbers down on top of some level bases spread 8ft apart. Each timber will be 8ft in length. Do I have to worry about these timbers bowing or warping? I'm trying to use mostly white oak for the base, and originally I was going to put the bases 6ft apart, but I really want to go 8ft lengths to dig less holes. Also how many inches of each timber should sit on each base? Read More

I just purchased a new Wallenstein FX-140 skidding winch and I'm doing the initial setup. This is mounted on my JD6105 (105hp) tractor. I cut down the pto shaft and when the shaft is completely level the winch is 9" off the ground and when all the way down, on my shop floor, the pto angle is around 30%-35%, which is way too step of an angle to operate. As you guys know my Mill was delivered to Ms.asc and incomplete. The Mill was delivered a couple weeks ago with about 12 hrs. Ran ok by Tech that delivered it.
