Get to do some "Celebrity Logging" tomorrow. Got 35 Bug trees along a Busy Road to be cut. Plans are to walk the Timbco down the road cutting & Bunching in the road, Will then Skid down the road (distance varies from 1/8 -1/2 mile) to a Meadow along the road where i'll be set-up Processing the trees. Kinda excited to be working in a location that people can see the whole logging operation.

Any of you guys ever get the chance to do anything like this?

I have been involved with some very visible helicopter logging along a main highway. lots of rubber necks and stopped cars and cameras.

Do good. Spread awareness of what you good loggers can do. ;)

we cut 3 big islands in black lake ny we did it with a barge and tug boat barged the skidders out to the islands and a loader we were doing 10 tractor trailer loads of logs a day off the islands huge red and white oak and hard maple we skidded to the edge of the island where it was loaded tree length  on the barge then it would get unloaded and slashed on the main land across the lake we were movie stars all summer the boats on black lake would just swarm around our job all summer

I was on a job years ago where we had about 200 cars stopped and watching what was going on. But not exactly like what you are talking about. One of the cutters dropped a big beech into the highway along with all the telephone and power lines, closing the road.
