Guide bars??

Well spent today in my garage. Tinkering with saws and bars. I have Oregon and GBs and one Tsumura. I repair and maintain all myself. I have tips for all. I have only cut about 100,000 feet with the Tsumura and it's a good tough bar. Bent in a complete U and bent back fine. And I seem to have much better luck with GB tips vs Oregon's. It would be nice to consolidate a little and I see my supplier has GB titanium bars for a decent price. But have read elsewhere via google the word was stopped production a few years ago. So?? And the Tsumura is a little more money but good. Should I stick with Oregon's buy some more GB or Tsumura's. Just looking for someone 2 cents.

I just bought two GB bars for my Keto, and I am impressed.  Yesterday I cut an ash that was actually a little bigger than the head's capacity, and when the saw was about three fourths of the way through it split and the butt end kicked up when the head tipped (I had already released it about half way through, which in hindsight wasn't a real smart move).  I was practically out of the cab to change bars, but cycled the saw and everything looked good, so I kept on cutting.  those bars seem to have more spring in them than Oregons, and the price isn't much different.

I still haven't done a thing to that Tsumura but close the rails and dress it. And it didn't really need dressed. It's tough but does seems to be getting a little more flexy and some of the plastic inserts are cracked but seem to be staying it tight. I'm impressed with it. And Oregon tips still suck. It don't matter if I buy $20 Oregon or the $5 Japan ones they last the same.

Hey guys looking for some info. Need to get a bar for a Poulan 655bp I picked up. Haven't had any luck finding anything bigger than a 20". Oregon doesn't list anything bigger either. Strange because it's a 99cc saw. Looking to put a 32 on it. 50ga. 3/8. anyone ran into the same issue? Any help ie.. part number etc would be greatly appreciated. Love those Sugi's but beggars can't be choosy I guess. Thanks

From what I can see it uses a "PIONEER PRO SAW MOUNT", which Oregon refer to as "D007", and don't seem to stock any more?

They do a D009, but the bar mount groove is 0.5mm narrower. Just enough to stop it fitting. 

I'd Email Oregon and see if they had an alternative, even if you needed some sort of shims or spacers to mount it. 

It cross references to a Windsor "PP" mount, or a GB "P" mount. 

GB do list a couple of "P" mounts, but only to 24". 

But if you can do a search on those mount patterns you might find a "new old stock" someplace.

According to what i can read, you can take a large mount husqvarna d009 bar and make it fit without too much work, that is internet info but i believe the guy knows what he's talking about.

Probably correct. Looks like you would need to make the mounting slot 0.5 mm wider. A good eye, a steady hand, a Dremel and a few minutes would probably make it fit,

It was also mentioned about making a different angle for the oil hole, using a dremel tool and a flat file the guy said he could finish the entire job in about 10 minutes.
