You certainly did the correct thing with that old house and I am sure that your worker will realize much value from the recovered lumber.  Well done Sir.  ffsmiley

Right you are, seems a pattern here but let me ask; do you need my suggestions for spending your money and time, again?

Nativewolf,

I think what you ment to say is: " shall we convene the design committee? ". That way its a group effort spending someone else's money!

Raymond (Ramon)- prepare to say no and it won't hurt my feelings one bit, but I'm going to ask you, at the meetup, if I can run your excavator... I have a backhoe, so I'm familiar with some of that part, but I'm considering renting an excavator when I finally get the funds together to fix up my pond.

If you work him hard enough he won't care about where he's sleeping.  He'll just collapse exhausted on the ground and you can cover him with a few teak leaves.  For goodness sakes don't baby him and give him a comfortable wooden bed.

Ramon (Raymond), you are Swiss, if i understand correctly there are 4 languages/backgrounds represented in Switzerland? Are you Italian Swiss, with your given name being a Latin version?
Too many irons in the fire

teakwood

yes, there are 4 areas in Switzerland with 4 different languages, i'm from the biggest part, the german speaking part. Although we have different languages we are all Swiss, we are not happy when you confuse us with the Germans just because we speak German. same goes for the Austria people, just because they speak german, they still are Austrians

Get him to work on the new sawmill building.  Oh no, did I just spend your money?   Darn...my careless fingers

But now it is out of the bag, you are getting a hydraulic mill with setworks.  Darn, I spilled the beans too soon...more money.

Ramon,

As a junior member of the design committee, I tasked myself with finding you economical plans for the new sawmill building that nativewolf was proposing.  I was able to procure a set of drawings fora Walmart distribution center that they built a town away about 15yrs ago.  It's only a few 1.2 million square feet, is that going to be big enough, or am I thinking to small scale?

I have several packs 1.5x 4" B quality for  floor of deck who doesn't sell. that's the lumber i bought from the neighbor company. TyG market is hot right now. so we did a resaw attachment for the mill, not ideal and still hard work and needs 2 persons, one pushing and the other pulling. it's pretty fast though, we can do 100 blanks per hour which gives me 200 boards tyg.

TyG will be 1/2x4"

Nice, gets the job done!
They make industrial electric power feed rollers for table saws and molders, one of those could be added to feed stock. Another idea would be use an old treadmill as a conveyor belt to run the wood through, just have to be able to slow the speed down to get a good cut.

The weather is so bad, always cloudy rainy, we should be in dry season long ago, solar kiln isn't working good, it's just too cold and i have to dry a clients order.
so i had to go full MacGyver on the kiln, cut a hole in one side, lifting the morning temperature with a propane burner till the little sun takes over.
RobTulepeak told me that propane isn't ideal for that as it's a "wet" heat,  :huh? :huh? ffcheesy  whatever that means!

it works but it isn't the cats meow

so i'm hoping for more sun
