Hickory or white oak

Walked by this tree this week and notice that a hickory tree was growing out of a white oak. Not the best picture. If it would of been a better picture I was going to ask Danny to ID this one for me.

SO, would that be a hoaky tree?

Now that I found it I go by it everyday and try to figure out how it happen. The white oak is completely around it about a foot up.

Conspiracy Theory #1:

A squirrel buried a hickory nut at the base of the white oak in a little root pocket where the roots flare out from the base of the tree.

I enjoy finding conjoined trees of different species.

I recently found a white oak and white ash together but the ash is probably going to get hit by the ash borer.
