Logged?

OK, just a simple question.  To the right of the  "Report to moderator" is "Logged".  What does "Logged" do? 

OK, two questions, what is that cute little symbol between them?

It means that your I.P. address has been logged by the forum and can be used to help identify the poster if that was ever needed. The symbol is just decoration representing part of a circuit. To an administrator, we see the I.P. address, not "logged".
