Hi guys
Sawed my first hard maple log a blow down from my mothers lot .
I used a new timber wolf band 10 degree 7/8 tooth space .45 th
It cut like it had to much bite in the wood .
Is there a better blade combo for hard maple ?
I tried all kinds of feed rates no change
Thanks Jim Bruno of NH

Jim, less hook would be a big help, but you should have noticed an improvement when you slowed the feed rate down.

I've sawn quite a few Hard Maple with the 10° Double-Hard bands from Wood-Mizer and had no problems cutting!

As Chuck indicated less hook angle try a 7 deg band.
How old was the blow-down?  They can get real tough the older they get.

Or a 4° blade, no down side except they take bit more power.   Steve
