I bought an old Homelite XL 12 bow saw. I want to put a new motor on it as it has no kickback protection or chain brake. Was wondering if anyone has had experience with putting an older bow blade on a newer engine?
What saw are you wanting to put the bow on? Depending on saw you may/probably have to notch out your clutch cover for bar and chain to clear. The other problem is does it fit new saw, does the oil hole line up, etc.
