ERC Building Strength

Hello All

I am thinking of building a small shop, maybe 15x24 with 10ft walls. I can frame it with sawn SYP, and was wondering of ERC would be strong enough for posts. Thinking full cut 6x6, but could go 8x8 if needed. What do you all think? I would normally use PT SYP, but cedar is cheaper.

cedar 6x6 is fine for post we have 3 barns and 2 shops built with them and one barn has a small loft that holds about 400 square bales of hay these buildings are anywhere from 10 to 50 years old.  cedar is not good for beams or joist though it will sag or even break if used horizontal.

All of our lumber sheds and sawmill shed have 6x6 erc posts in the ground everything else is syp.

I have used cedar for 4X4 on the Women Cave. Still standing. I would think nothing of using the cedar I have here,but no idea about your cedar. But as said for post is fine,I would not use it for beams.
