The machine took a tree across the front which bent the risers and made a leak happen in the top of the radiator header, brakes are somewhat weak and we know that can be pricey plus a dirty job.  machine is tight and the winch works good, no free play in the clutch (adjustment) ?. wasn't a turboed motor so wondering about power. Thinking it over a bit as my 225 Jack is pretty clean and straight and in reality probably could only get 20K resale. The machine I figure is well worth what he is asking. If I can dispurse of some hay equipment and he still has it I will go for it.

why no turbo? , I know I'm in canada so our prices on parts are I think higher but I put brandnew everything that had to do with brakes  in the transfer case on both sides for $2600  now that was 2 years ago , them disc are abit more in cost . My winch will break anything or tow my machine all over the place but I think I got it set up pretty good as well

I paid  $14,600 plus hst for mine so $16,500 , and I put it right to work right off the float , Donot think today thou I could buy it for that price

they are great machines, the one i ran part time had a diff lock. it was great, but you had to be still to engage it not like the jd version. if i remember right it was a push pull switch. good luck you should love it.

That motor should have been turboed originally, might not be the original motor? But I'm not sure why someone wouldn't swap the turbo onto the new motor. It's a pretty heavy skidder with a pretty small motor so I think the turbo is important.

Well, going up to look one more time and run it around a bit.  The turbo would be located on the starter side ( correct ). How does it connect to the exhaust on a 4bt. Did not have alot of time on Sunday and want to come up to heat and use the winch abit. In all honesty it seemed abit under powered just driving it around and really am used to the detroit power.

It's really important to spend as much time as possible checking it out. Sometimes offering the seller( if they seem cool) to buy lunch takes the nervousness out of the deal. It's also important to know  who your buying from( there is a lot of honest people out there and dishonest) good luck!

I run a 240c, love it!!! has the td40 winch, but my question is, depending on the weather i have to adjust the freespool adjustment. Wondering if i can replace the spring that holds tension on the drum or if there are other issues.  Winch works great just get fussy with free spool.
