We had a sickly  crooked spruce robbing the Wolf River apple tree of needed afternoon sun. I have a history of mucking things up when trying to help, so why should this be any different?

Me and Justine Case went to work.

Alls well that ends well  :)

They are a nice apple!

The apple tree will reward you with lots of apples in years to come. :)  That spruce had a rough life, as indicated from it's hockey stick trunk and it's final kick to the seat of the pants. ;)

I finally mowed down 6 of 7 apple trees the Moose had browsed.  I was holding out thinking possibly they would come back.  The 7th one is not looking good either but will wait a bit longer to see what happens.

Those old moose are hard on trees, of any kind. Don't plant any white pine.  :D
