Welcome Mikron.  I have stated several times that if/when my 1998 obsolete and unsupported Wood-Mizer SetWorks ever fail, Mikron would be at the top of my list for a replacement option.

Welcome and thank you for your sponsorship.  I don't know how the Mikron setworks would work on manual mills, but that seems like it would be a phenomenal opportunity for folks to improve their efficiency over the cheat sheets and manual scales.

The Mikron computer setworks can be effectively used on manual sawmills, whether they feature a manual hand crank or a hydraulic lever, due to its specialized display. This display precisely indicates where to stop the movement, ensuring the boards are cut to the desired thickness. Moreover, all the necessary mathematical calculations, including kerf and board lists, are automatically performed by the Mikron setworks, eliminating the need for manual computations.

Additionally, if you upgrade to a power sawhead—be it a DC motor, electric winch, AC motor, or hydraulic motor controlled by electric valves—you can connect the Mikron computer setworks to control this motor. By switching to the automatic positioning mode in the settings, the setworks will handle the sawhead movement automatically, significantly enhancing efficiency and precision.

We at Mikron LT are excited to join the Forestry Forum!

Our inspiration to create user-friendly and intuitive solutions for any sawmills of any design stems from our deep understanding of the challenges faced by sawmill operators. We realized that many traditional systems were cumbersome, required extensive training to use effectively, and, to be frank, were not always accurate and reliable. By listening to feedback from industry professionals, we aimed to design computer setworks that not only simplify the operation process but also enhance productivity and accuracy, and to be accessible and reliable.

One of our goals is to make advanced technology accessible to everyone in the woodworking industry. We believe that by focusing on ease of use, intuitive design, and self-diagnostic features, we can help operators get the most out of their equipment without needing to spend excessive time on training or troubleshooting.

Additionally, we believe that any band sawmill can be upgraded to be accurate and effective, regardless of the brand, whether it's home-made or commercially produced. With our computer setworks, operators can increase lumber yield and productivity easily, without the necessity of investing in new sawmills.

Looking forward, we see our innovative approaches playing a significant role in the future of automation in woodworking. As we continue to develop and integrate smart technologies, we envision a more efficient and productive industry where operators can rely on seamless, automated systems to handle complex tasks. This will allow them to focus on what they do best: producing high-quality lumber.

We are thrilled to be part of this community and look forward to sharing more about our products and hearing your feedback.
