We went from a low of $2.459/gallon for regular E-10 a few short weeks ago to around $3.099/gallon as a little blip in the commodities market made many things shoot up like a rocket.  When (if) things drop back down, retail prices will very, very slowly follow suit.

Fuel here in GA. just took about a 30 cent jump. They had taken the sales tax off when it went crazy last year and put it back on the other day. The state does have over 6 billion surplus so it was the least they could do. Probably all them folks coming down to watch some good college football. :D

Last Monday, my local AP/PM regular dropped from $4.839 to $4.639 and 2 days later to $4.539, where it sits now.  If I take a short drive, I can get it for $4.099 (at a 76 station) and a lot of places at $4.299.  Diesel is still $5.69 or more.  There are some places still selling regular for $5.79 or more and diesel over $6.
And now dropped to $4.439 at my local station.  So, something like forty cent drop in two weeks.
Today down to $3.999 (that magic threshold!).  44 cents in 13 days. :)
Was down to $3.699 for the entire week before Christmas.  I commented to the kids that it looks like fuel prices have finally stabilized.  We were seeing price changes up to twice a day at some stations.  So the next afternoon, the prices went up 4 cents ::) and has held for a few days there.  There is a station that I hit when I'm out an about that is $3.399.  Pretty consistent that it is 30 cents cheaper then my local and 20 cents cheaper than anything else I see.
Ahh, the good old days!  Never thought I'd get excited about $4.79 cash price for regular. ::) Most places are $4.99 or $5.09. Major name brands are as high as $6.19!!!

I have not noticed more than a cent movement per litre up and down every week here since July. July that added on two taxes, carbon, and clean energy taxes. Of course the feds have no oversight on the clean energy tax so the provinces are taxing customers and not refineries. It was meant to tax refineries. They dream up nonsense and don't implement it as advertised. :D

If they would have taxed the refineries the customer would have ultimatly paid it anyway.

The tax is suppose to be used to incentivize clean energy development (through rebates), not to pocket for profit. Which is nothing more than a shell game. As it's being implemented they have no reason to bother.

With oil just below $90 a barrel and reserves on empty this time plus canceling leases I think it's going to hurt the pocketbook by year end. OPEC isn't giving an inch with cutbacks for now. Like they are saying get gas over $7.00 a gallon  and everyone will buy a EV.  :-X

Maybe....Still don't see how there will be enough infrastructure in charging
stations to make it viable for several years in the future. In addition the electric grids would need to be upgraded significantly which would likely take decades. Particularly when the powers that be will not embrace nuclear generation and they want to eliminate coal, oil and LP from the equation  :(

In my county regular is 3.69/gallon. One county over it is 24 cent/gallon cheaper as they have multiple distributers and some competition which we don't have here.

Up here, more than half of the EV chargers installed don't even work reliably according to their own figures. It's going to take some doing.

Just over 2 euros per litre for both 95 octane petrol and ordinary diesel fuel. 2 euros per litre equals 9,40 US dollars per US gallon.

There is a war going on uncomfortably close to us driving up prices on everything.

barbender

I often don't even pay attention to what I'm paying at the pump. I'll have an idea of an average price or what the trend is, but I have to buy the fuel either way in most cases🤷

I did keep an eye on diesel fuel prices on out recent trip out west. I sae prices between $4.19 to $5.19 per gallon. Minnesota is actually typically cheaper than Wyoming, and North and South Dakota, even though out fuel taxes are higher. I think that has to do with hauling distance and refinery capacity.

In our area in the last six weeks gas has went up around sixty cents a gallon and diesel has went up around fifty cents a gallon. Gas is around 3.79 and diesel is around 4.25. Glad I bought my fuel for harvest earlier when I thought it was high. LOL

Read an article online a week or so ago. Said to wait till after September 15th. That's when they can start to sell winter blend. Prices will drop 30 cents!

Prices have gone up 30 to 50 cents depending on the area.

Its $3.699 here for 87 octane but one county over it is $3.299 and I even saw one station advertising $3.249.

I think we only have one supplier here and over in the next county they have multiple with some real live competition in play.

Just today I paid $3.13 with direct card payment. They give 10 cents of a gallon when you use their card. Pump price was #3.23.

Filled truck with Diesel today @3.999 drove past it on the way to a Dr Appt. and thought it was a mistake. Other stations were as much as 4.459, so made sure to stop on the way back!

Price is high to begin with because of the 'price of carbon' and added on 'refinery tax', but it has dropped 12 cents a litre in 2 weeks. Trudeau's big dream, tax and spend. Inflation went from 3 to 4% in a month, but based on anything you buy it's way higher, so everyone up here knows that is total BS. Valuation on the house for insurance is higher than 4% year over year, double in 5 years. I see nothing to back their inflation rate figure.
