·                 Develop and edit forestry standards, implementation requirements, and guidance documents.
·                 Provides technical leadership for conducting resource assessments, development of conservation planning alternatives, and utilizing guidance contained in the NRCS National Planning Procedures Handbook.
·                 Monitors programs and policies of Federal and state agencies relative to forestland use and management, in order to inform supervisor of potential conflicts or opportunities for collaboration
·                 Develops and implements conservation plans related to woodland planning and utilization of financial assistance program funding to install forestry related practices in the assigned region.
·                 Develops and implements training needed by NRCS field personnel and partners for woodland related resource assessment, generation of conservation planning alternatives and implementation of best management practices.
·                 Collects data for revisions to forestland related Soil Survey databases and assist in preparation and review of final information.

Langlade County is seeking candidates for a full-time Forestry Administrator within the Forestry and Recreation Department. This management position is responsible for overseeing all Forestry and Recreation staff, and County related operations. The essential functions of this position consist of planning, budgeting, grant writing, expenditures, and receipts for the Langlade County Forest, Parks, and Recreation. The forest administrator’s activities must comply and meet various federal and state mandates on all lands and parks managed by the forestry and recreation department.
Salary: $63,918.00 - $75,857.00 Annually

This position offers the opportunity to work and grow in a vibrant, forward-thinking environment with a team of highly-skilled, dedicated employees. The person in this role is integral to the overall success of the Cloquet Operations.
        You will be responsible for purchasing and harvesting 70,000 tons of standing timber (40% summer accessible) with the goal to supply high quality fiber to the Cloquet mill.
        Candidate will manage and maintain a standing timber portfolio and logging force to harvest and deliver the wood, promote and practice land stewardship ethics to ensure compliance with forest certification, maintain record-keeping to track stumpage and support logger/landowner relations.
·      B.S. Degree in Forestry or closely related field
·      Minimum of 2+ years of experience in the Forestry field
·      Strong communication skills.
·      Skills must include: timber inventory and analysis, understanding of forestry regulations and compliance, building of forest roads, GIS mapping.
·      Willingness to learn and understand the forest markets within the Lake States.
·      Understanding of forest certification as it relates to both the management of forest land and the marketing of forest products.
·      Computer literacy in spreadsheets, word processing, network systems.
·      Strong value for safety.
·      Willingness to travel throughout the Lake States. The focus area will include Iron and Vilas Counties in the state of Wisconsin.  
·      Must have a valid State Driver License.
Salary is determined by a number of factors including the value of the job to the organization, market forces, internal equity and skills brought to the job. Grade / Reward Level: S9/HRL 12 through S9/HRL 13, depending upon experience.

Lumberjack RC&D Council, Wisconsin
Lumberjack has an established history of doing inventory work in Wisconsin for the Wisconsin Department of Natural resources (WDNR) and has an excellent record of working collaboratively on these inventories with the United States Forest Service. Lumberjack installs and measures Forest Inventory and Analysis (FIA) P2 and Urban plots, Wisconsin State Forest Continuous Forest Inventory (WisCFI) P2 and P3 plots and does habitat typing of forested plots during the summer season.
The current inventory staff consists of five permanent field foresters plus the forest inventory supervisor located in three offices across the state.  The crew currently has a combined total of nearly 60 years of inventory experience with Lumberjack.  
Wanted: Full time Forest Inventory Supervisor to independently supervise 6-8 permanent professional crewmembers and seasonal employees as required in the collection of statewide forest inventory, forest health monitoring, and habitat classification data.  This position demands a high degree of responsibility and leadership.  The successful candidate will be solely responsible for the fulfillment of Lumberjack ‘s contract with the Wisconsin DNR.
