very unusual cedar

We were surfacing cedar today an ran into some very unique figure wish I knew what caused it cause I want more!!

 
94 woodmizer lt40 HD kabota 5200 ford 4000 94 international 4700 flatbed and lots of woodworking tools.

This is caused probably by the eastern juniper bark beetle.  The insect interferes with the cambium layer and so the tree is not sure if it should make bark or wood, so it makes a combination.  Can you see some small holes?

No holes the figure turns to a Birdseye on the next board then goes away
