@TroyC the older tires that were swapped to the rears are at least 60%.  So being swapped to the rears isn't so bad.

Just curious, but new tires are always supposed to  go on the rear. Several reasons but mainly to prevent loss of control due to the rear coming around. If a front tire looses traction the vehicle will basically skid forward. Rear traction loss will result in a spinout or rollover accident.

Maybe yours needed rotating to even uneven wear. With 60% tread you should be ok, and I know anti-locks help. Anyway, be safe and good luck with the new ones!

Close to 80° on Monday, 82° today. Mostly sunny but I think the clouds are moving is for evening thunder crackers which are continuing into Thursday, so I suspect some soakers from that.

Lots of wheat or barley is up and green on the fields now. They planted to field up by the woodlot last week to soybeans. I see a pale full of treated seed in their yard. The deer and moose will have a chewing good time up there.

We like cornmeal fine up here, that way it doesn't need pre cooking like cereal, can make your corn bread like flour. We have a local mill that does courser meal, but it needs cooked or your corn bread will be like eating gravel if just baked as is in the oven. :D I used to be able to buy a lb at a time, the last time I could get it it was a 10 lb bag. I'll be 30 years older before that could ever get used up. :D We only make corn bread with home baked beans, and that is only in the winter. Some times is just buttermilk biscuit with the beans. We use fine meal with flour to bread fish sometimes. Roll your trout or salmon is good melted butter and fry it up.

Studies have shown that they can use less salt by pretreating with brine, as it does help keep ice from forming in the first place. It also creates greasy spots on an otherwise dry road (usually at intersections) that you weren't expecting.
