Still haven't decided on a sawmill and just saw this pop up for sale locally. Norwood Lumbermate Pro MX 34 with 23hp Briggs, trailer and supports, 4ft bed extension, detachable 2ft extension, lap siding and shingle making attachment, Quick click detent setworks indicator system,Norwood blade Sharpener Norwood tooth setter, timber tool tree-felling jack.

The asking price is $9500

Is this a decent mill? It's quite a bit more than I was planning to spend but seems like quite the complete package.

How does that mill compare to an LT 15 ?? Saw one on CL for $6000.  Just FYI. Don't know anything about how the two compare.

Now that I have had some time to research a little bit, the price seems king of high even with all the extras...I'll let someone else chime in who might have a better idea of the value....

I just got a postcard from Norwood announcing a fall sale, something else to think about.

Norwood makes a great mill, solid and strong. I have a Lumbermate2000 which I bought new in 2001. It still saws straight and true.

I bought the norwood lm 29 about 6 months ago I have to agree they make a great mill.

The LM29 is in my top 3...and now they are on sale making it even more appealing. I like the MX 34 I found for sale locally but it's about $4k more than I wanted to spend.

You've got to be willing to dicker.  If you don't find a price that makes both of you happy, then walk away.  If you can get the cash, start laying out $100 bills until you get to, say, $6,000, then stop.  There's a good chance that he'll work with you from there.  Won't hurt to look.  If everything is in good shape, the asking price is still a great deal.
