DK Fearon, Richard installed a high volume Wilo pump to solve my issue because that's what he had on his truck. . I have several 3 speed Grundfos pumps in other areas of my system that I like because when there is a high demand for heat, I can set them on high speed and theykeep things up to temp.

I would have Richard check for air in the system and install temp gauges.  I have a gauge on my supply and return lines so I know how the system is performing. These are around 25 bucks at Home Depot and well worth it. If you are going to replace the pump, why not go with the Alpha and save money down the road?

no problem with the pump  not enough gallons a minute   moved it to the other side of my manifold that shoots to my oilboiler and kept the smaller of the 2 pumps for a spare. works very well

I have a C B 4030 wood boiler live in Wi. in a old farm house the 4030 was the smallest boiler at the time 2008 the only problems I had with it was the taco pumps replaced the power packs 3 times so I replaced the taco pump with a 3 speed pump so far so good I use a heat exchanger in my L P gas furnace then heat the hot water tank on the return line this boiler keeps the house warm 74 deg. most of the time real cold temps and high winds suck the heat out of these old farm houses tonight its going to get down to -30 but no wind should be ok without turning on the l p furnace all in all very happy with the wood boiler
