Here is the set up for a small lifting shear.  

2 4" x 4" 16 foot timbers, lashed together at the top.
A 2 Ton Chain fall attached with sling for lifting.
A double block and tackle set on the guy wire so that the shear could be boomed up and down.
Guy line attached to the pickup.
