POSTON WIDEHEAD

A blade broke today.
Its happens to all of us.
I took the door off the idle side and the wheel was still spinning 192.3 mph.

For some unknown reason, I was in a hurry and took a 2 foot piece of 1 inch square
sticker and said I would stop the wheel.

I was doing good until the sticker hit the wrong side of the wheel.
The spoke hit that stick and jabbed me right in my belly, knocked me to the ground I could could not get any breath.
Kirk thought it had hit a rib but I couldn't talk or breath.
Took about 40 seconds of gasping to finally start to breath.
Tonight I'm am very sore. VERY SORE!
Please.....ya'll can tease the Old goat if you want.....I can talk it but please don't try this.

You should go get checked out.
My ankle is fine Caveman unless I twist it. Then it will swell a little.
Kirk said the injury looks like the same injury when you take a bullet and have a vest on.
Said my reaction was the same too.  :o

:o I'm glad it wasn't any worse. Trouble seems to find me easily enough, I don't need to go looking for it.

Glad to hear you are sort of OK, but you really should go to the emergency vet and have them look at that.  You and I have both seen how spleen/liver injuries can hide and just what they can do to you when they decide to go.

While it does not "look" that bad the description of how you reacted and the timeline that you gave;  I absolutely suggest that you go have someone (qualified MD) take a look.
You are probably OK but internal bleeding can sneak up and take you out with no warning.
Just saying.

Like Magic said, I am fine but yes sore.
And I mean sore.
All Kirk and I did today was clean, grease, adjust and other maintenance on the mill. I did sand and put in 2 bow ties on a RO Slab.
I was just taking it easy and doing some things that really needs to be done. Sometimes life works that way....you get slowed down for a reason.
A bunch of y'all called and texted me....
Thanks.....sometimes things happen to give you time to talk to your family.

DanG POSTON, that hurts just thinking about it. I sincerely hope you are ok and healing quickly. Sometimes a guy (or goat) just has to slow down and be careful. You and others here have been giving me a healthy respect for working around my saw, expecially the powerhead and blade.
