Is there such a thing as a big "log caliper" with Doyle and International scales on it?

Jeff

I don't know if anyone makes them now days, but they used to.

There are log calipers, but the ones I've found are without the log scale....as you need log length in addition to the diameter.

They read in inches to the 0.1".

Only log calipers I've seen are for nurseryman, and only read out to about 15" or so. I would think they would have to be DanG big for a 36" tree. ;D

I have a set that read to 30 inches but put them in storage a week ago. They were probably 100 years old or so. They include the scale on the side just like a log rule would.

Haglof makes calipers as well. They have computerized versions as well for calibrating harvester heads.

I already dealt with the office in Madison MS, they were very nice.
