Hall Settle / Bench / Coat Rack

I've been working on this little project for far too long, but I'm done finally. Holidays and Covid really strung this one out. This is 72" wide and 84" tall. It is really big. This must be for a big house. I will find out when I deliver it on Tuesday. I had to make it in two pieces or it would have been too big to handle. There are adjustable shelves that go in the cubbies of the base.

Looks great. Hate to paint wood but the greys look great.

Thanks Ron, I hate to paint in general, but I especially hate to paint this time of year, because I can't spray due to the temps. I had to use small rollers and a brush. The original idea was that the seat surface would be stained, but she couldn't decide on a stain color so she just said to paint it all.

Right, and the little bits of paint that get left in hard to get to spots will add that nice bit of antique/distressed look that many people like.

I don't have room in my hall for something so big and fancy. I just have a cedar board with hooks on it hanging up in the hallway behind the door where the kids hang their coats. This is for a paying customer.

Finished and delivered this morning. It went into a pretty tight area, but fit OK where they wanted it.

Thanks guys. @JRWoodchuck I have some screws going from under side of the bench into the face from of the upper part and I have some mending plates attached on the back. It's not very elegant, but it did the job.
