Which saw can handle some milling work?

Get that bandsaw mill, no sense   in wearing out or burning up a expensive chainsaw on a mill.  Or hire a bandsaw mill, will cut more in one day than a couple of months on a chainsaw mill, plus way less waste.   Steve

The 661 has more cc's and HP.
It's going to mill better.

I've used my 661 to cut firewood. With a 20" bar it is a beast!

I don't know anything about the 500i

Few do, they are just showing up on the market. For infrequent work look for a decent used 661, they are out there and a lot cheaper than having a new one sitting around doing nothing.

I'm not buying a used saw - I'm getting a great deal on new, whichever one I buy.
