A couple jabs of novacane you don't feel anything any way .Fact you don't feel anything for a long while .Take a drink of water and it goes in one side and leaks out the other . :D

Don't worry though you aren't going to bite your tongue because you won't have any teeth ----but when you get the store boughts watch out because you can really chomp yourself until you get used to them .About like sticking your tongue in a bear trap .

The things aren't ever going to fit if you don't stick them in your head .

Lawdy they aren't going to chomp much steak sitting on top of a dresser or a pickle either .Gumming a pickle would be about like trying to eat a rubber hose .

Now then that morphine sulfate .Once was enough I made a complete fool of myself .Tried to put the make on the dentists assistant ,she was kinda cute  ;).Ex wife was miffed for a month over that .I got the hot tongue cold shoulder business for quite some time over that deal.

About 30 years ago I had all my wisdom teeth pulled... I told the nurse to save them for me so I could take them home and and stuff them full of candy and watch them ache... The first thing I remember when I was waking up was her putting them in a little envelope and sticking it in my shirt pocket.

I was helping a friend build a glass block light tower on top of a 28 story condo on the beach. During the lunch break another tradesman took his choppers out to eat and set them on the wall. A Sea Gull swooped in and snatched up the top set. We watched him or her fly over the gulf and drop them in the drink. He looked for hours but of course never found them.

My Dad was in the US Navy during WWII. He got gum disease ("trench mouth") and they pulled all his teeth and made him false teeth.

Years later, he was a Southern Baptist preacher, pastoring a country church in north Florida. One Sunday morning, he was in the pulpit, really pouring on the "hell-fire and damnation" when his upper plate came out. It bounced from the top of the pulpit, down onto the offering table and then to the floor, where it came to rest in two pieces.

Dad just stepped down, scooped up the pieces, put them in his suit pocket and kept on preaching...

He got a new set made by the VA dentist in Jacksonville but always said they never fit right.

I never took the first pain killer .Then again the most I had jerked out at any one time was 7. The last go round had a wisdom tooth that could have came from a horse .

I could never figure out why they called it wisdom because if it was that smart it wouldn't have grown there in the first place .

You'll be allright in a day or two .Hang in there .Just don't get any bright idea of eating a bunch of peanuts .--Soup ---

Oops miss read it ,you still have the danged things .Well sure fire cure if you can stand it ,mail pouch chewing tobaco. If that's too tough try some Redman or Levi Garret because it's sweet . Mail Pouch is kinda harsh .Might sound stupid but it works .

We say (half joking) that our dentist has a wing with my name on it. My teeth are generally good but the cost has been high. I had to have one pulled a couple months ago. This was a tooth that had been repaired with a root canal. Then it needed fixed up again. This time it needed a crown. By this time, most of my teeth had crowns and I expected worry free teeth. Then one day I was eating a BLT and came down on a piece of bacon with that expensive root canal, crowned tooth and it cracked in half! No more fixes. It had to come out and I guess because of the root canal work, the dentist ended up grinding my jaw bone. Didn't hurt then but when the Novocain wore off, gawd was I in pain. I can't imagine having multiple teeth pulled at once.

I had all my top pulled in one session.  They put me out and pulled them
.  I think it was one of the smartest decisions I have ever made.  No more tooth aches.  The pain was no where near as bad as when I had all 4 of my wisdom teeth pulled.

I've got a funny tooth story, but if I tell it, my significant other might pop out my god given teeth.

I've been very lucky not to have too many teeth problems other than wisdom teeth, and they put me out to take those in the hospital. I've always hated my teeth, because it is not possible for them to be a nice white. I am what is called a "tetracycline baby".  Mothers that were given this as an antibiotic after 4 months of pregnancy, the infants tooth enamel could be permanently stained. Baby teeth, and adult teeth. Mine are not near as bad as a lot I've seen, but not something I'm proud of.  There is nothing you can do for it. You can get veneers, at about $1000 a tooth, but they only have a life expectancy of 10-15 years.

I found the blunt reason on-line awhile back why there has been nothing done with this fairly common problem. They banned the use of the stuff for pregnant women and children up to a certain age way back in the early 70's. The real reason they don't find a solution? Because in 25 years or so, the problem will be gone. We'll all have died off.

I did notice a hole forming in the very back tooth on one side. I made an appointment, the first in 7 years.  I ended up with just a cleaning, and one tooth fixed. I'm good now for 6 months, as long as Tammy's insurance keeps me covered. :)

I have a friend, Chuck....the guy you saw in the pics helping me saw Pecan logs......well he goes every ten years to have his teeth checked. He went to the Dentist the other day and all that was said about his teeth was that he was using the wrong tooth brush.....he shouldn't be using the stiffer one.
I think the teeth think does have a lot to do with care but also your family tree.

Now in other news: Come on Jeff....tell the story.  ;D

We recently had a strange experience with our 3 year old grandson. One of his front teeth turned grey. We were alarmed. Jessica called the dentist and he wasn't alarmed. After a couple weeks, it turned white again. I've got to ask the dentist about that one. It just doesn't seem possible.

Got all my original choppers here. Never had a tooth ache in my life. I did have a couple pulled because of crowding and had a spur grow out once and removed. I have had fillings, but those were questionable,as only a dentist can see cavities that even I can't see in an X-ray. :D I was also told I was not going to have wisdom teeth grow in. Well, that wasn't true and I still have them.  Far better to have the originals and healthier, just gotta take care of'm. 8)

As far as the family tree, they all had them removed because no one looked after them or could afford a dentist visit.

But having said that.  ;) His brother had all of his teeth pulled, and had picked himself out some dentures from many in a box that the funeral home had.  yikes_smiley

I use to work at a place with long ovens that we would have to feed carpet sheets, about 6-7 feet wide by 10-12 feet long. They would go into a preheat section than the main oven and than the press section. This guy was feeding sheets into it and just as the machine indexed the sheet into preheat he sneezed and his teeth landed on the sheet and went into the oven. He comes down front just a hollering about his teeth and finally slowed down enough so we knew what he meant. The machine was put in manual and emptied out and all was good.
Same guy, going thorugh the city,4 lanes,35mph on a motorcycle. Yep,sneezed again and out comes his teeth. He got them, dodging traffic and all. This is the same guy that had a fire at his house twice.
One guy had a glass eye and lost that down the toilet as he was flushing it.  ::)  Even took a collection up to help pay for it.  ::)   I did read the thank you card and his wife said thank you for seeing us through this.

I knew an old fella who when stationed in Europe during WWII had all his teeth removed. And he said they broke his jaw more than once doing it, so I assume he had several teeth pulling sessions. Anyway, he had three sets of falsies and couldn't wear any of'm. My uncle couldn't wear uppers. It was hard enough to get him to wear his glasses. Couldn't see up close, but he wouldn't wear'm and then always was looking for them. That's what life is like when your contrary. :D
