I have been testing bands for a company. This far I have tested Carbide 171" 7° 1.5 wide .050
They saw really nice and sharpen well.
They are $53.30 delivered to my mill in NH
The shipping price could vary depending on where you live.
I have negotiated a price on this
size band and others for FF
 members
I make or receive nothing for this .
I just want members to have this option.
I'm going to test some other carbon bands as well.
I will have some pictures tomorrow of the carbide bands.
The welds are nothing like I have seen before.

Not sure if one brand of blade is better than another.   Everyone is looking for a better blade but I am not sure how much difference there is between blades.

In an oversimplification, lots of differences. Mostly way over my head.  I played musical blades with my first mill for quite a while until landing where I did.  Kasco 4degree

Over the years I have been sawing I have settled on a WM 4 degree doublehard. A larger tooth angle may cut faster in soft woods like pine or poplar but then I hit a knot and it jumps and creates a wave so I'll stick with my 4's. Other manufacturers may make similar or better blades at better prices but these are quick and easy to obtain and my local sharpener does well resharpening them for me.

It would be hard for me to test other blades due to the variety of wood I cut while sawing mobile. One day it may all be fresh cut tulip poplar, the next it may be old dry oak with big knots or forks or such. The next day it may all be white pine or hemlock.

I enjoyed MMs test report but he had a large stack of similar aged pine logs and could do a reasonably fair comparison.

Winter sawing of frozen and 1/2 frozen logs requires some different bands
The carbide fits that need and for real knoty pine or spruce logs

The price point and quality of these bands is unmatched on anything I have tried .

Today I'm sawing some big dry white pine logs with spike knots and big 4" to 5" knots.
The boards are flat and have a smooth finish it's very impressive.
