Despite the snow, and cold weather, I plan on being at the John B Haines Antique Logging Exhibition on Saturday Jan.  26th. It starts at 8:30 am. It's my first time attending, but by the story in the local paper, it looks like a good time. There are some pics of last years even on the papers website, but not sure I can post a link. It's being held rain, snow, or shine at 3327 Geryville Pike, Pennsburg PA 18073. The address is in the paper, so shouldn't be an issue posting it here. Just thought if anyone is local enough, they may want to attend. It's totally free, and they'll have free coffee and donuts, along with other food.

Although not vintage, last years event has a Wood Mizer sawmill demo. Hoping they have that again. Would be nice to talk to a fellow saw dust maker.  :)

Not a very big turn out this year. Probably due to the cold, and snow, but still a good time. No real heavy logging equipment, but alot of vintage chain saws, and some hit and miss engines. With the 10 degree temps, this oil engine was a tough one to start.

Manufactured in Canada, this one was purchased by the current owner, somewhere in Michigan

A clearer view once the smoke cleared.

Now here's a saw that saved some time back in the day. Here it is doing it's thing to a red oak.

Also some oxen on hand. These are some big beasts, and had no trouble moving some logs around.

This one wasn't doing any pulling, but I've never seen one quite like it  :D

One of several chain saw collection on display, and some in action. Here's a disston chain saw with a mercury engine.

This guy tells me he still has about 20+ saws still at home.

Although not a chain saw, this is the first one of these I've seen. A gas powered circular saw.

Thanks for braving the cold for us so you could share some pictures with us. Snow I can put up with, but 10° standing around and looking at old stuff is cold.

Not to much "braving the cold" for me. If you get cold at this event, simply head for the large open pit fire they had going, and warm yourself up. You only needed to get within 10 feet of the fire, and you were warm. There was also 3 large indoor displays of some of the most perfectly restored equipment, and vehicles that I've seen. This is all one mans personal collection. It was amazing. Every machine was fully operational.

Not exactly logging equipment, but still some really nice pieces of history.

If this is all the stuff he's finished, I would love to see what he's working on!

There were more machines that I didn't get pictures of. I'm not sure what he might be working on, but I'll bet there's something. One piece I did miss, and was for logging was a Cat. 525 skidder, and a Morbark chipper grinder. I grabbed these pics from the net  ;D
