Finally got the video of my homebuilt hydraulic log rotator. It only shows rotation towards but can also rotate away.

Looks very functional. I wouldn't mind seeing the rest of that video! Something captivating about watching an old circular mill run

Old western mills might have hooks and shove arms on the log deck that can pull the cant ,with a quarter turn, off the carriage and shove it back on. In the east you mostly turn up but there are turners that do both.
