Hello all, I have been doing some research on how the best way to connect TJI 2x12 used for roof and how you would connect them on top of ridge? I have read some places that you should leave a gap for shrinkage of ridge. Also heard you should Simpson tie strap them together, and also heard you should cut a piece of plywood and join the two on top by filling the inside of the 2 TJI's. The roof pitch is 12/12. Also I will be running a 1x4 and lay joists on top of that to tuck in my T&G. Would you just nail the TJI on cap log, purlin and ridge or screw them or some kind of Simpson tie?
Thanks I will be contracting it out but I just want to make sure it gets done right.
Thanks
