Title: husky 268
Post by: RALFF on January 29, 2007, 03:39:20 PM
I have an old Husky 268 that belonged to my dad. It has a 20 inch bar at present and I was wondering how long a bar and chain I could go to for occasional use on larger trees.

Welcome to the forum RALFF, you can put up to a 34" bar on that but keep in mind that the rpm will drop off .

I've got a 268 and run a 24 in bar with no problem the trick is to use skip tooth chain, it will cut fine and won.t bog down the saw . A 34 I don't hardly think so :-\

I agree with Skip, a 34" is a stretch especially on an old saw. A 24" would be plenty.
