It's hard. Lindy didn't want to tell me while I'm away at work but decided it was too much keep alone and didn't want me to find out by accident.  :'(

Lee, sorry to hear of your loss.  I have never had the privilege of having a horse, but can understand what a part of the family they could be.

I'm sorry to hear about your horse. We can become very attached to them. My old fella is pushing 35 and I expect to find him down every day but the stubborn old sh88head just keeps on going. I know I should help him on out but I just can't bring myself to do it. I've had since he was born.
Just heard from Lindy that my old boy has gone to greener pastures. My heart is broken.
I understand completely. I'm truly sorry for your loss.
Brent

Thank you Brent. I thought I understood your pain before but now it's only too real to me also. Once again I want to say I'm sorry for your loss as well.

Sorry to hear about your horse Lee. Losing an animal sucks, but I bet horses are even worse than cats/dogs. They're so long lived, it seems like they'll always be there. Add in the very personal time spent with them; possibly with a working relationship, I can hardly imagine what it's like  :^(

LeeB

He lived a very long life for a horse and the quality was going down. We had made the decision to help him on before next winter and I thought I was ready for him to go but sadly I was far from it. It's a little better now but will always hurt. We had his mother too and lost her right before we moved to Arkansas from Texas. He lived a docile life after we moved and hadn't been ridden in 13 years. We got a donkey as a companion and protector for him. The donkey is grief stricken as well.

I guess I kinda jacked Brent's post. I didn't intend to do that Brent. I'm sure you are hurting still too.

Don't sweat that at all Lee. I'm glad you mentioned it here. Just know they are in greener pastures now and feel no pain anymore. All is good.
