Note that this is a 2204, not a 1204 which is what is on my sawmill and the engine pictures look entirely different from mine.  My injector pump and injectors are all under the valve cover.  I have no idea about the 2204.

I think the pump on these engines are just a lift (supply) pump. They have cam operated unit injectors if I am not mistaken.
Yes it does have a cam operated injector pump for each cylinder. For what I have read it is mostly used in marine applications. I have not found anyone else who has one on a sawmill.

Thank you Magic, I didn't catch that👍 My experience is with the 1204t, not the 2204. But if they also have unit injectors that is where the magic happens, all you have to do is low pressure fuel to them. To be honest, I haven't looked at mine closely enough to know what the lift pump even consists of🤷🏽‍♂️

Hayseed, where is this Lombardini service center? I need to get some parts for mine, it's getting to be due for a timing belt.

Numbers are in a pm Mike, stick em in your wallet, I'm within pretty easy range from Bristol to Hayseed.

Ok... Injectors and nozzels gummed up beyond repair. Now how much money it to much to put into this engine?

Hayseed

Hello and thanks to everyone who has given me advice so far.
In my previous post I told about a Timber Harvestermill I purchased that had been sitting for sever years. I was unable to get fuel threw injectors. I took it to a local lombardini dear. They pulled injectors and nozzles. Said the are gummed up beyond repair. :'( How much money is to much to put into this motor? It only had about 40 hours on it but it has been sitting. Is it worth fixing? It is a Lombardini 2204t (60hp with turbo) that is now made by Kohler. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Don P

Depends on cost compared to new but that is basically a new engine, I'd be tempted to fix it.

I would go to a local farm equipment dealer and ask where they send their pumps and nozzles out to for repair/rebuild.

The place I took it to is a injector repair shop. That is one of the reasons I took it there. They have rebuilt injector pumps for me before.

Check with Kholer for the price of new injectors.

That doesn't make sense to me...I'm not understanding why they can't be cleaned. At any rate, parts should be available for it from Kohler. I think you'll be happy with it if you get it running.

About $200 each plus injection nozzles.

Don P

Have they tested the pump output and pressure? In other words is the rest of the system checking out ok? I'd hate to be chasing a more serious problem backwards a piece at a time.

At a coupla hundred bucks a pop, well they are broken now, you can't hurt them. I'd be tempted to try to take them apart and see if it can be hillbilly cleaned enough to get it running.

Southside

I think you either need to find another shop or get some University of YouTube time into that engine.  There have been far worse brought back from the dead under a shade tree.
