Logging logginglogging

I was wondering if anyone here had a Portage and main and could share their experience with it.
Has it been reliable? easy to clean? how long you had it?

I've had my P&M conventional OWB for maybe 10 years and it's been great. I'm not quite up to date since I'm not shopping but a few years ago you could still get a conventional by buying a coal model which will still burn wood. One of the things I like most is that I never see sparks coming out the stack, with the long horizontal passages the heat and sparks are done before exiting.

I've been running my P&M 2840 for the past three heating seasons.  Works great - no issues.  Impressed with overall design and efficiency.  On more than one occasion on the minus 20 mornings, I'm pleasantly disappointed when I find the fire box still full of wood from the previous stoke over 12 hours prior!
Burn wood.  Stay warm.

Third year on my 2840. Works very efficient. I have gone out to put wood in and saw a blue flame.

Had mine running from 2011,no trouble. Takes some time to clean
and needed to replace a fan motor. It is a gasser and uses about 1/3
the wood of older boiler. Wood needs to be well seasoned and will work much better than unseasoned or 1/2 seasoned.Would buy again unless something better comes along.  Check out this sight lots of good information on it.
