if you have an old apple orchard that is grown up with hard wood trees 10-15 dbh and you cut them out will it stun the apple trees I know it will take a few years of pruning to get them back and some of the apple trees are vary close together should I cut every other one ( sorry if this is in the wrong place)

Bringing those trees down may result in some smashed apple trees. :(
