I noticed when using simple set the head would go down a little bit past the set point then up to right place , is this normal ?

My accuset 2 does the same thing..coming "up" to the target mark is more accurate Im told, than coming "down" to the mark. Like tuning a guitar string... ;D

The reason for the "bump up" is to ensure the lift chain ABOVE the head is as tight as possible. You need to do the same when you do a manual set as well. Otherwise the head will drop slightly when you engage the clutch to start your cut.
