I liked this guys project for a firewood limb holder for easier cutting.

I have one of those that I bought. Now that I have the cordwood saw for limbs, I don't think I'll ever use it again.

Sawbuck... best invention since bottled beer.

We cut logs to 9' lengths.
Have a 6' long sawbuck divided into 18" compartments.

Place the log in the sawbuck with roughly equal overhang on each end.
Saw in place and voila, 6 each 18" fire logs.

Sawbucks are very handy and are a good safety option. No pinching, no kickback, log is
well supported with equal weight.

Have a smaller one with 14" compartments for the smaller stove in the kitchen as well.
Great tools.

The posts on YouTube by "Wranglestar" are always useful. I've been a subscriber to that channel on there for a few years now.

I saw this on youtube once and decided to make my own. I drew it up on sketchup and I printed out the pieces to be cut but have yet time to build it. You throw this in a standard trailer hitch and it holds the end of the log off the ground so you can cut it up. I designed this one to be able to receive up to an 8" diameter log

I have attached the sketchup drawing if anyone wants to make their own.

I made a chainsaw holder which clamps to the side of a trailer & has an piece of chain which hangs down to make a length gauge which is adjustable. Just start the saw then lower the limbs down onto the chainsaw. The rounds land on the trailer. Faster for me than having to load the limbs onto a jig or saw buck then having to pick the pieces back up. There are videos on YOUTUBE with similar setups only they are on saw horses.
