What kind of tree is this

I see a lot of this tree alo g 94 in MI.

The main trunk looks like a willow, the leaves are long 8 plus inches and fern like in appearance.  The also have a rust looking cone poking up at the top.

Without a picture I'm guessing, but I'm leaning towards sumac.

Mostly grow in clumps,don't get much bigger than 6 inches,maybe 10-12 tall? Can be quite pretty in the fall,crimson?

Thanks folks yes I would say sumac found pic of it.
I do long haul and this is the first time I have drivin this late in summer, which has given me a chance to see trees in leaf.
