Large walnut burl pics

  Today while out cutting some timber I ran across a very large burl on a walnut tree I cut the tree down the burl is about 3 foot through and 5 feet long the largest one I have ever seen. Dose any body know a buyer for them or will I need to mill it my self are they worth much it seems to be solid. I will try and get a pic tomorrow

Not sure about back east but out here on the west coast there is a market for walnut burls for gun stocks. ED

look up qbuilder's post about burls in the sawmilling section.  very very informative on what some burl buyers are looking for, and how most burls are not made of gold.  i'll try to find it for ya....

You should sell it by the piece! One off stuff like should bring a really nice check! There are a lot of pistol grips in that piece! VERY nice!
