We got some. Shavings, that is.  After 20 hours of planing and bullnosing, we don't even WANT to see a planer for a few days.

  We did 1179 --3/8's X 6" X 6' boards, S1S and bullnosed both edges. Also did 157--1¼" X 8" X 6' boards down to 7/8's S2S, all Cypress.

That sure is a lot of saw dust. Do you sell it or just get rid of it anyway you can?  Looks like ya got a nice place there!

If a Husband & Wife are alone in the forrest fighting and no one is around to hear them, is he still wrong anyway?

Larry

So what ya making?  Some kind of fancy plantation shutters?  What ya planing with?

Got my curiosity up with this one. ;D
Larry, making useful and beautiful things out of the most environmental friendly material on the planet.

We need to insure our customers understand the importance of our craft.

We are one of the few millworks that goes on the road.  ::) ;D

Wish that was our place. Nice thing is, we leave the mess for the customer.  ;D :D :D

Quite a while back, we got a request to resaw some 1X cypress into 3/8th in stock. Finally, the customer got electricity into the building. He is going to start manufacturing field boxes. That is what is used when you pick fruit for the gift-shipping business. No-one in Fla makes these anymore. The need is to keep the fruit from becoming smashed before it gets to the sorting house.

There are also Tomato field boxes and probably more I don't know about.

The customer was very happy with our work, and, now wants to know if we can supply him with ready to assemble parts.  ;D ;D  Shoulda took pics, but, the old timers set in, again.  ::) ::) ;D :D

Probably get some flak for this, but, some of the 157 inch and 1/8" boards were as much as 1 5/16's thick. Others were barely 1" thick ??? They were circle sawn and resawn. Thought a resaw was more accurate that that ???

Arthur

looks good clean shavings

we dry ours and bag it in 40kg feed bags and sell for AUD$10 a bag to those in the local towns who need bedding for their chickens or other pets.

you can also bind it for fire logs, lots of work though.

I can send it to ya.  ;D ;D ;D  Around here, everyone wants to know if it has been sterilized and disinfectant treated. they don't want bugs in their pets beds ???  ::) ::) ::)  It IS Cypress, folks.  :D :D :D :D

That's why we did it at the customers place.  ;) ;)
