I have a concrete slab patio that extends 18' out from the house and is 20' wide.  I have some salvaged 3"x 13" glulams and a pile of 6x6 posts and assorted beams all Douglas Fir which weathers pretty well.    Im thinking of spanning the 20' with two glulams per 6x6 post.   I would put the posts about 4' from the house then say 7' apart to get 3 posts in the 18' direction.   Then put 6x6s at 2' on center running accross the 6 glulams for the roof.   I would sheathe and roof all but the furthest out 7' spaced bent ........ there I would plant a vine to grow on the 2' on center  6x6s.

Anyone build a timber framed patio cover?  Any pics?    I need some ideas on how to dress my design or can it for one that looks "artsy".

Thanks for the help. :)
