Building the still is easy-the hard partis-----
1 Operating a still is just as hard work as sawing.
2 Must be well hidden,as federal agents take a dim view of owner operators.
3 Clientel-a bunch of drunk moochers hanging around all the time -just like the FF
                    ON THE OTHER HAND-
   1 If done right that stuff is GOOOOOOOOOD111 8) 8) 8) 8)
2 Is an extremely good remedy for sore mucels

  Or maybe DIS??

We had a ATF permit for a 500 gallon still, in Arkyland. Never got the mash to ferment right??  It's NOT as easy as you would think. Takes a devious mind?? ::) ;D
All truth passes through three stages:
   First, it is ridiculed;
Second, it is violently opposed; and
Third, it is accepted as self-evident.

Why? What was so wrong with the posts? I'm open to anything can you send me the posts?

Jeff

No need to send it to you, you made it. This site is listed as a resource for forestry information in several places for young people. Making a still is border line for the general board but the subject after that was absolutely inappropriate. As I said enough said.

Speaking of suckers has anyone done any fishing yet? I'm sitting here doing paper work and bank stuff that I hate to do and the sun is shining and I was thinking that it would be a great day to go fishing. We have salmon and trout here but we have to wait till the season opens. It sure is nice to be fishing and not having any phones ringing!
Does anyone have any stories about the big one that got away?

jeff: you mentioned spearing suckers near Curtis, If you can identify the creek or stream you may have been on our property, or near it. Spearing was actually a bigger deal years ago but has diminished recently for some reason. I was born and raised where sandtown road meets M117.

Jeff

I am not sure the name of the rd, but it's gravel with a tube, or was it two? Its the stream out of the lake. You turn to the left before you get to curtis.

You must know the place, we would spear from the tubes in either direction, and I would go through the tubes, at least the one.

We went every year for 10 years, and then after totaling out my truck on the way home we quit going. that was in about 85 or 86 We always went Mothers day weekend and hit the black suckers most times. I went the year I got married with my father-in-law, brother-in-law and grandfather in law. We left on a friday afternoon and got to curtis about 6 o'clock. We decided to go to the shipwreck inn till it got dark. At that time it was a small local bar, last time there it was a restaurant :-/

Anyway, we were shooting pool and this tall very shapely tall good looking blond motioned me over to her side of the bar by using the index finger curl, you know what I mean, don't know how else to describe it. It means  "Come here", well all my in-laws started laughing and said get over there!  I walked over, and she wanted me to go with her to the fire hall dance. My new in-laws of course were trying to get me to go. I kept making excuses, and she kept coming up with answers, said she would even drop me off at the creek when she was "done with me."

Well, as tempting as that was, I stayed true ;D Mostly because I knew the story would beat me home!! After that, and until he died, my father in-law would always greet me with that finger curl motion and a grin.

By the way, we always brought enough suckers home after just 2 or 3 hours of spearing. Usually way more then enough.
