Can anyone help with identifying the species of wood in the slab. Birdseye Maple maybe?
Also, what's a rough fair value for this piece as is? It was going to be a project of mine but it looks like I'll be moving later this year and won't get to it before then.
It has some cracks which likely hurt its value. The dimensions are: 102.5" long, 1.5625" thick, 17.625" at its widest & 13.5" at its narrowest.

That appears to be quartersawn sycamore.
Peterson 10" WPF with 65' of track
Smith - Gallagher dedicated slabber
Tom's 3638D Baker band mill
and a mix of log handling heavy equipment.

My first thought was QS sycamore, too. The ray fleck that seems to be spiraling into the board, the big split, and I'll bet it has a bit of twist, too.
I believe QS sycamore might just be our most beautiful wood here in the states. I love it! Add a bit of spalting and I just can't control myself. 🤣

But that particular board isn't very attractive to me. I would cut the smaller areas of QS figure out to use in smaller projects.

I do what the little voices in my wife's head tell me to do.
