I'm looking for a 14" band saw. I have a 20" powermatic 81 at the rent house. But I've heard that having two band saws is Handy so you don't have to change blades and reset guides as much. The "bay cargo" place has one in the $300 range after the 20% off coupon. The porter cable is $550 at the blue box store website. The grizzly is about $625. Grizzly also has a 17" 2hp machine for under $1k. The best deals seem to either be the cheap $300 one or the 2hp 17" saw. But you might get what you pay for.

I like my '80s Delta 14" bandsaw.  I have the riser kit for 12" cutting and a 3/4HP motor.  Also put on the aftermarket Carter roller guides.

Definitely agree to having 2 band saws in the shop (and a sawmill or two outside).

One for coarser one for finer, or heavier/lighter work as you prefer to think about it.
