I had been wondering where you were??  I understand the "burning candles at both end" thing, but take care of yourself.

Day 4 with this vertigo and I'm still falling all over the place. >:( It's driving me mad. I'm going nuts sitting/laying around the house. God, I hope this passes soon.

Magicman

With this rain you could not get out anyway so rest my friend.   :)

You right about that. It's coming down in buckets. If I was up to it, I could get some electrical work done, but there is no way I would climb a latter. ;D

I have 6 nice syp logs I need to go pick up before the people trash them. Only good thing about the rain is keeping them from doing that. ;D

Magicman

This rain shut my sawing down for the entire week.  Some areas have gotten 4"-5" per day.   :o

I just check. A hair over 3" so far this morning. More to come. :(

ff-nothing from the GP about your problem? They always want to dump you off to several specialists for tests and all you get done is spend money and time. I had a bladder infect. couple years ago, been telling my GP about it for six months. Well it finally went septic on me and I wound up in ER and hospital for a week. Then they thought i should have artery biopsy of my r temple because of severe headaches. More money and time. All they would have to have done is treated the initial infect. Quality of life suffers when you're trying to function being a half a bubble off.  :( Best of luck to ya.

I have faith in my GP. Been using him over 35 years and he is a good friend. Problem is that I'm in heart failure and I can't take steroids. He told me that that would race my heart all over the place and my CRT-D would go crazy. :D I'm paced 100% of the time. :( So, he really wants to let is run it's course a little longer before I try them. Even the ER doctor said the same thing when I first came down with this.

It's going to be a very interesting day. Going to pick up a water heater. No way for me to drive, so my son is off and he is going to drive me. Heck, the walls are closing in on me. I haven't been out of my Pj's since Sunday other then to take a bath. :D I will have a puke bag with me. :o

Mike, I to had a fusion done in my neck. 5 and 6, but that was about 15 years ago and never had a problem after that.

The question is if it is still fused. You might be surprised. (PS: 30 years a licensed Dr)

No trouble with the neck. They put some dead man bone and a acebandage  thing with 4 screws.

Anyway, I did start feeling a bit better yesterday that I got out and started building a trailer for my mill. Just real tired and tired my ears are ringing off the hook. :D

More rain in the near forecast this week and I am in need of some sills and 2x6's.

fishfighter

It's been a bit over a month from the last time I did any work on the camp. :( Anyway, I did put in a half day hanging siding. Was tricky getting on a ladder. DanG thing kept swinging in the wind. DanG vertigo. >:( Anyway, had to shut it down do to the heat. Going to try to jump back on it in the early morning.

dablack

I know you know what you can handle but with ladders, take it easy.  I hate those things!

I'm not a fan of ladders too! Getting to old, I guess, The wife gets out there with me and watches me like a red tail hawk. ;D

Got a little bit more siding up yesterday. Had to shut things down. Got hot way to quick. Hit 91F yesterday and going to do it again today. :(

Nice build I just found this thread. As for hanging siding I like my old pump jack scaffolding with attached work table. I load the table up with siding, take my cordless trim saw, square, jug of water and a radio.

Would love to have a set of those. I did have a few sets of scaffold that I got from my SIL, but he needed them for a job. Suppose to bring them back to me soon. Till then, I'm not going any higher then what I can get with 12' ladders.

Hackermatack

The old style like mine that run on wood don't bring much at auctions, I don't even think OSHA approves them but they are plenty safe if you use good lumber for legs and brace them when it starts getting high and shaky. When I was a little younger we used to splice out 2 x 4 's and go up 25-30 feet on them. Nice part is after you get going just keep moving up with the job and always have your work at a comfortable height.

Got some siding up the last few days.

Reason I didn't go higher, no scaffold. :( Still waiting on SIL to bring some. He still working high up. Also, I will be starting to box up the lower eves so I can get higher and finish areas.

A lot of rain coming next week. :( Will be doing inside work at that time.

Oh, the bad thing is that when I hung the back porch siding, I screwed up. Didn't take into account to level things to where the siding would match corner to corner. So. I will have to remove that area and reinstall. >:( I am about 2" difference. :( Just not happy, so I will redo it.

It does look good!  Also glad to hear that you ar staying safe.

Well, that didn't go so good today. Busted my butt getting off a ladder. DanG vertigo took over and before I knew it, I was on the ground. :'( DanG doctor that I went to said there is no way of passing out. Like to put foot to where no sun shines on his backside. >:( Anyway, just a couple small cuts and my pride busted. :D

Not much progress today. Just boxing in eves. After the spill, I called it a day. Wife wasn't to happy with all the blood. :D

Oh, I am keeping the work area clear. Thank God that I did. ;D

Started raining and that is in the forecast thru the week. So, down time that I need.

For sure. Got places hurting were I didn't think it was possible this morning. :D

SIL brought two sets of scaffold yesterday evening. Bad thing, the bottom fell out with rain. Rain all night. There is no way to even think about setting the scaffold up with the soft mud I have around the building. :( A lot more rain in the forecast for the rest of the week. :(

If any work is going to be done, it will be inside.

Hackermatack

Seven years ago I was the lead carpenter for my sons shop, it is 16' to the eaves. Myself and a guy 2 years younger than me did most of the roof work because the young guys were scared of heights. This summer we are doing another large building and I told him that I am ground control only and he better find guys that can climb or it ain't getting built. I made it this far without being completely crippled and I am not pushing my luck.

Was able to get some work done today. Some more eves work and got that back wall fixed like it should of been in the first place. Then went inside due to rain and set the platform in the attic for the water heater, then triple up wall studs under it. That is how I did it in my house with no problem. ;D

With the mud I have around here, it would sink. :D Scaffold on wheels sink and I use my backhoe to just push them over as needed. ;D

Got a little work done on the inside Saturday. Found a rafter that is in the kitchen area that went south. Sucker dropped about 2" in the center. Thank God that is the only one. ;D Also, started running wires. Had a heck of a time drilling thru some of the beams. Guess my drill bit needs to be sharpen.

Wild rafter. Look close to see the blue line.

That sucker did drop. :D
