I have woven thin slats that our bandsaw mills  make so easily. Thin green wood under pressure will conform to shapes, that is , molds.   Flat they make some mats that could be door mats, etc.  I cut some into circles and put them under planters to improve drainage.

Imagine what steaming could do to a woven mat.  Bend it into a barrel shape.  Lots of possibilities. ;D
